So, baby gave us quite the scare this afternoon. I hadn't felt him move around much all morning, and mentioned this to our doctor at our appointment this afternoon. She checked his heart rate, and it sounded good. Then she checked me. I've dilated to 2.5 cm, and thinned out quite a bit, but still not ready yet. We were sent over to Timpanogos Regional Hospital right away to have him monitored for a little while. The nurse strapped a couple of monitors to my belly, and we waited/monitored for about 30 minutes. He started movin' and groovin' as soon as they were strapped on; I think he must have thought his heartbeat was music.
He is doing well, and is healthy. No need to worry. You can bet your bottom dollar that I'm going to watching this little guy like a hawk though, from now on.

You know your due date is close when...
... you are told that you will be released from your church calling (teaching 3 year olds, ten of them) soon.
... expiration dates on milk are later than your due date.
... you start to waddle everywhere you go.
... contractions wake you up in the middle of the night.
... you start considering trying gross things, like drinking castor oil, to get this baby out of you.
... your husband says, "It looks like you have twins in there."
This part of pregnancy just might be the worst part so far, the waiting. Worse than the throwing up all the time for 3 months, and not being able to have things around my neck (weird, right?) for another couple of months (I know that labor and delivery will probably trump all of that pretty easily, pretty soon). Not knowing whether he will come tomorrow or in 4 weeks is hard... 4 weeks should sound like nothing, after waiting nearly 9 months now.
I'm just sick of being pregnant though. I want to know what he looks like. It is killing me.
Does he look more like me or Aaron? Is he going to look weird?
What color are his eyes? Brown like mom's or green/gray/blue like dad's?
What color is his hair? Brown like mom's or will he be a tow head like dad?
What color is his skin? Brown like mom's or pasty white like dad?
I want to be able to hold him (in my arms, not my belly).
I know, I know. I'm just an impatient mommy, eager and excited to meet you, baby. You come when you're ready.

The Studio
Here is just a little taste of what goes on in the studio:
Tambourines
Claps
Maracas
Lots of listening : Ron (producer), Scott (engineer), Aaron, Jacob
We are so lucky to be able to be recording so close to home. The studio is only a 10 minute drive from our house. Though the boys still spend long days and late nights there, it is nice that we Fictionistas (a name given to the band wives from Cait) can go and visit, listen, and spend some time with our husbands. Yesterday when I went, I even got to sing on the song they were working on!
One night last week, the guys got done a little earlier, so Aaron and I took the opportunity to go out on a date. We tried a new place called Black Sheep, an Indian/Native American type restaurant. Super yummy, but I barely even dented my burger. I mean... look how massive that is!
Baby Anderson's Nursery
the beautiful bedding that my Mom made
Sailboat mobile from my parents
Chevron quilt made by Rachel and my Mom
Mr. Thumpakins : bow tie
Aaron surprised me, and painted this desk. It used to be dark green.
If you ever come to stay with us, this is your bed.

37 weeks
Doctor's appointment went well, I'm still dilated to 2 cm. I've gained 35 pounds thus yet, with 3 more weeks to go. I'm hoping to stay under 40 :)
At the moment I am packing our bags for the hospital, cleaning up the baby's room and closet, and snacking on food (as always). Since Aaron is in the studio, recording right now, and the studio doesn't have very good reception, I conducted a test this morning. I sent a mass text to all the members of the band, to see how long until one of them got it and could tell Aaron. It took 2 seconds for one of them to relay the message to Aaron. Comforting.
Evelyn, Aaron's mom, came down for the weekend to help us get the baby's room ready, and spend some time with me. It was so much fun, and the room looks great. We didn't end up painting the room gray, like I had planned, but after all the changes I don't mind the yellow color anymore. It helps brighten the room up quite a bit, it feels happy in that room. I wish I had before pictures, it is such a transformation.
Pictures to come in next post.
